Working at NEDness

NEDness is building an international learning and community platform where non-executive directors, trustees and experts share knowledge and insights on how organisations are run and governed. The platform recently went live with a soft launch, and the team is now preparing for a wider launch.

As NEDness is still in its early stages, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how a new online platform and community take shape. Articles, podcasts, contributions from external experts and online events are all in development. The publishing processes are already in place, and you'll help prepare, publish and adapt content for different online channels.

You might not be familiar with the world of governance yet, and that's absolutely fine! What matters is your curiosity and willingness to learn. You'll work directly with the Chief Communications Officer, gaining practical experience in content creation and online publishing while having room to contribute your own ideas. You'll have clear priorities and regular opportunities to discuss your work, while managing much of it independently. Open communication is important at NEDness, so you're encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and speak up whenever you need guidance or support.

What will you do as a working student in content & online publishing

You’ll help share articles, podcasts and videos online. You’ll publish content and turn longer recordings into short clips for social media. Your tasks may vary from week to week, giving you experience in different aspects of online communication.

Your tasks will include:

• Uploading articles to the website, adding the right tags and publishing the content.
• Watching or listening to podcasts and videos and turning interesting moments into short clips.
• Breaking content down into accessible pieces and posting them on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
• Keeping files organised so you and your colleagues can easily find what you need.
• Contributing ideas for new content and helping with publications related to online events and speakers.

Experience with online publishing is a plus, but you can also learn on the job.

What you bring

You’re curious, enjoy sharing ideas and like working with online content. You don’t need to know about governance yet, but you’re keen to learn.

• You’re studying at a university or university of applied sciences and have an interest in content, podcasts or social media.
• You work independently and carefully, stay organised and ask questions when you need help.
• You pick up new digital systems quickly and switch comfortably between different tasks.

What NEDness offers

A flexible part-time role where you can gain experience with content, podcasts and social media alongside your studies. You’ll work in an international, mainly English-speaking environment and help build a new platform.

In this role, you’ll learn how to prepare and publish content in a content management system, adapt one piece of content for several channels and make editorial choices for different audiences. You’ll also build experience in planning your own work, collaborating with senior colleagues and contributing in an international start-up environment.

• A gross hourly rate between €15 and €17, depending on your experience, excluding holiday allowance.
• A longer-term role of 4 to 8 hours per week, with a start date to be agreed.
• Plenty of independence and room for your ideas.
• Direct contact with the Chief Communications Officer and a look behind the scenes at an international start-up.
• The opportunity to take on a wider range of tasks as the organisation grows.
